The Ceremony
Paphos offers venues to suit your requirements - church, town hall, on the beach or even on board a yacht - the choice is yours.
St. George's Chapel
Situated in the Chloraka district of Paphos, the chapel is a popular choice for weddings.
The chapel offers marriage services to both Anglican and Catholic denominations. The church itself is very pretty - inside you'll find wonderful artwork depicting the life of Jesus and covering both the walls and ceiling. The church isn't very big and will seat 25 people. However, there is standing room for about another 15-20 people. The church is air conditioned. St George's has fast become a favourite with bridal couples. Due to the steps leading to the chapel, it may not be suitable for wheelchair guests.
Ayia Kyriaki
The most popular church in Paphos.
Situated in the heart of Kato Paphos, this beautiful church has a long history dating back to the 13th Century. It is accessible by a wooden bridge and inside you will find it is very spacious and cool. The church stands on an existing site surrounded by ruins and makes a beautiful backdrop for the wedding photos. Ayia Kyriaki (St Paul's) has a wealth of tradition and is ideal for larger weddings. The church does have wheelchair access.
Paphos Town Hall
Civil ceremonies take place in the town hall in Paphos.
Built in neo-classical design with a grand staircase and columns leading to the interior,
it provides an elegant location in the heart of the old town.
Peyia town hall
A very pretty location for civil ceremonies.
During fine weather the services are held in the town hall courtyard under a decorated gazebo and a canopy of trees. Walk down the staircase to the courtyard to be greeted by your waiting guests and groom with the wedding music playing. After the ceremony celebrate with a glass of champagne. Photographs are taken on the steps and in front of the old village spring which dates back to 1907. This is a very popular venue, as in the summer months you will always find a gentle breeze making it just that bit cooler.
Blessings
Following the normal legal ceremony, blessings can be arranged as a follow-on.
The choice of location is yours - let your imagination run free.
