Rural Taxis Rural taxis can be hired from and to their base station (village) only. The name of the village is indicated on the taxi. An exception is permitted when hiring is made in advance for a pick up at the airport or seaport, where the taxi driver must present proof of an advanced booking. Charging commences upon the entrance of a passenger to the taxi and is based on the following chart. Rural taxis are not equipped with taximeters. a) Tariff I: Single trip 22 cents per km; Return trip from 23.00 hrs-06.00 hrs is 22 cents per km. b) Tariff II: Return trip 17 cents per km. c) Tariff III: Single trips from 23.00 hrs-06.00 hrs is 26 cents per km. d) For every luggage weighing more than 12 kg 22 cents per piece. e) Delay or waiting time charge: For tariff I and II 5.00 Cyprus pounds per hour.
