Cyprus Telecommunication Authority (CYTA) changed the telephone
numbering system and unified zone charges
On 1st December 2001 the National Numbering Plan had been modernised.
The "0" prefix is abolished for all calls within Cyprus and an 8-digit number
applies for all services
Uniform charging zone
Cyta has introduced a uniform charging throughout Cyprus. Uniformity to
charges for all Fixed Telephony calls shown below:

8-digit number
for Fixed Telephony
The "0" prefix has been abolished for all calls within Cyprus. The "2"
digit and the area code is incorporated into the existing number. For example,
Nicosia telephone number now is 22xxxxxx, Famagusta 23xxxxxx, Larnaca 24xxxxxx,
Limassol 25xxxxxx, and Paphos 26xxxxxx.
8-digit number also for Mobile Telephony
The "09" prefix is replaced by the "99" digits and your number now is 99xxxxxx. |
