New office in Kissonerga.

We are happy to announce that we have just acquired our newest and largest office so far. For those of you who are regulars at the Chalk & Cheese
restaurant in Kissonerga your time is up.  It will be a sad to see the restaurant close, but Joe & Di have worked very hard over the last few
years, plus Joe has many hidden talents. The restaurant is going to become our Rental & Property Management office and we will be offering all our
usual services, plus full property management, satellite and pool installation and much more.

Good luck Joe and your team :)

  Winter Wonderland in Nicosia.

After reading local press reports it would seem that Nicosia is spending a considerable amount of money to turn the City into a winter wonderland. They
are bringing a Carousel in from the UK and will have spectacular display's all through December until the beginning of January. So do not forget, not long now to get your xmas shopping in.

==========================
Supermarkets.

This headline has been in local press for the last few weeks. Supermarket's bosses are complaining because they are not allowed to open longer hours in
the run up to Christmas, unlike the local kiosks of which there are over 5000 island wide. Therefore all the major supermarket in Paphos will be
opening longer hours. Employees would appreciate more shopping time.

Paphos to Polis Freeway.

It currently takes approximately 40 minutes to travel from Paphos to Polis or vice-versa and they are 40kms apart. The existing road is well
maintained. The approximate halfway point is Stroumbi where there is a petrol station.
On route to Polis there are several restaurants and supermarkets and it is a very picturesque and tranquil drive through the countryside.
A new two-lane freeway has been proposed and planned. The route is anticipated to run from Paphos airport, and through Tsada, Stroumbi and
Giolou. For the majority of the distance, the new road will run parallel to the existing road along Golden Valley all the way to Polis.
Work is expected to commence in 2005 and will take about two and half years to complete. When completed, the new road will cut traveling time between
Paphos and Polis and all the villages en-route. The planned route is now available to see and can be found on our website: http://www.paphosfinder.com/paphos-cyprus-maps

Caveat Emptor (Buyer Beware) Property in the North of Cyprus

A land mark ruling means it's time to wake up and smell the coffee, for the foolish purchasers of land and property in the North of Cyprus!

On the 9th November 2004, Nicosia district court ruled that David and Linda Orams of the UK, aged 60 and 58, must demolish a house they built on
somebody else's land, in the non government controlled areas of Cyprus at Lapithos.  The land must be returned to the legal owners Mr and Mrs
Apostolides and returned to its pre 1974 state, when it was vacated by the fleeing owners in the face of invading Turkish troops, who still occupy the
North of Cyprus today.

The Orams must also pay compensation of around ?7,000 to the Apostolides. Under EU legislation court judgments in one member state can be carried out
in another and Mr and Mrs Apostolides are lodging the ruling with the British courts.  The Orams are fighting to have the ruling invalidated,
although they have little chance of success.  Thousands of people who have deliberately or haplessly purchased Greek Cypriot property or land in the
North are likely to find themselves in the same situation as the Orams. The British courts or any European court will be able to uphold compensation
and damages claims to the Cypriot land/property owners, namely the holder of a genuine title deed, according to the internationally recognised Government of Cyprus.  In cases where the offender has assets in a foreign European country, then those assets may be seized, in order to pay the damages. Mr Apostolides said. “You can understand when something is political, it demands political solutions. But the point is with these people I find it
difficult to understand their speculating on the land, the way they have done.”

Paphosfinder has a non political alignment policy and have reported the facts in good faith and without prejudice. However we feel obliged to
comment this time, since thousands of people have been induced into believing it is OK to buy property and/or land in the North of Cyprus (so
called TRNC) with illegal documentation being presented to them.  There is only one sure way to purchase property or land anywhere in Cyprus, this
being from the legal owner, who must have a title deed which is lodged at the Cyprus Land registry office of the Internationally recognised Government
of Cyprus, who hold records for the whole of the island.  Of course this is just the beginning and naturally we advise you to obtain proper legal advice.

Peiya Bypass

The long suffering residents of Peiya will be glad to know that construction of the Peiya bypass is well under way with more than two thirds of the road
completed and the rest now dug out and being prepared for tarmac. The route connects the coast road very close to Georges ranch with the Peiya to
Kathikas road on the upper outskirts of Peiya . The new road should stop the ever growing traffic jams in Peiya town centre.

Paphos and the surrounding villages are gearing for Christmas and the New Year, the usual array of lights and Christmas decorations are springing up
all over the district, although they are pleasant they are not as good as other major towns and some citizens have complained to the town hall.

You can't please everybody eh :)

Our favourite display is at the Harbour and worth a trip to see.

Recipe  Stuffed Lamb

Serves 8-10

Ingredients

4 small lamb forequarter pieces (shoulder) with bones removed (ask your butcher). Stitch the forequarters together in pairs to make 2 larger pieces.
1 bunch spinach, stems removed and leaves shredded coarsely
6 spring onions, chopped
250 g fetta cheese, crumbled
2 tablespoons chopped fennel (or dill)
2 small eggs, lightly beaten
50 g pine nuts, toasted
1 tablespoon washed and uncooked rice
salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
a generous splash of olive oil

A few sprigs of rosemary
4-6 cloves of garlic, crushed
lemon juice
olive oil

Method

To make the stuffing: in a large mixing bowl combine spinach, onion, fennel/dill, pine nuts, rice, feta cheese and egg and mix through with a little olive oil.

Place half the stuffing onto each pair of forequarters, roll the lamb over the stuffing and tie with string.

Rub the rolled lamb with garlic, rosemary, lemon juice and olive oil.

Leave in refrigerator overnight (or for at least 2 hours) to allow flavours to develop.

Preheat oven to very hot, approx. 240°C. Cook lamb in a roasting pan for approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes, reducing heat to moderate (160-180°C)
after 10 minutes.
Rest after removing from oven
