Credit cards, and Travelers Cheques in Cyprus
Travelers cheques are accepted island-wide in all banks and most shops and restaurants.
Credit cards are widely accepted. VISA CARD and MASTERCARD are the most popular. Before you purchase, check that your card is accepted. The card symbol is usually on display in the shop window or by the till.

Bank of Cyprus Ltd - (Not recommended by us)
VISA ELECTRON, MAESTRO, CIRRUS AND VISA PLUS are accepted at ATMs island wide. Since December 2004 all shops and retail outlets have the upgraded swipe machines installed and be able to accept all cards, including the 'chip and pin' generation of cards.
