Note: As from 1st of January 2008 Cyprus entered the Euro zone, and all rates are in Euro from the date. Until we post new rates in Euro, you can calculate the amount using conversion rate of 1 Euro = 0,585274 Cyprus pounds.

Road Tax is due in January or June each year and is charged according to vehicle engine size, unladen weight and whether a petrol or diesel.
You can now pay your road tax online at www.jccsmart.com. Just click on the blue banner and enter your details.

To work out the rate for your vehicle, multiply the engine size of the vehicle (cc) by the Cyprus pounds rate in the engine category into which it falls. It will be in the range shown.

Transferring ownership of a vehicle and registering it normally costs the buyer 10.00 Cyprus pounds.
When a third party is involved, such as a bank or guarantor, the cost is 16.00 Cyprus pounds.
